Yeah so, I also don’t understand why sexual orientation or identification needs to be mentioned in conjunction with a significant positive contribution to society.
I think ~1% of the US population is transgender, so maybe for reasons I’m too thick to understand, that’s important somehow?
- basementcat 2y agoI find it inspiring that she achieved so much despite the vitriol and hatred directed at trans people. When I learned she was trans (after I used her textbook) I tried to learn more about the trans struggle for equality and to be less prejudicial against them.
- dgfitz 2y agoMaybe that’s my daftness. I’ve never heard of this person. I don’t care what gender they are. I’m not clear why it matters. Vitriol and hatred is directed towards the entirety of humanity every second of every day, why does that play into anything?
