Muchas gracias, I am but a beginner still in Mexican Spanish, however my only slightly engaged over the years gringo brain remembers "mordita" instead of "mordida".
google translate says for both: "bite".
I have slightly worried for a long time that nuance will be lost via translate devices, and here we are.
- selimthegrim 2y agoI think Google translate is just wrong here
- downut 2y agoI would be much obliged if you could say why. I really love to learn these vernacular differences.
- selimthegrim 2y agoNot sure but searching mordita in a dictionary just gives Esperanto
- justsomehnguy 2y agoGoogle Translate is not a source of truth and sometimes just does ''AI'' things. https://dle.rae.es/mordita?m=form https://dle.rae.es/mordita?m=form https://dle.rae.es/mordida https://dle.rae.es/mordida https://es.wiktionary.org/wiki/mordida https://es.wiktionary.org/wiki/mordida https://es.wiktionary.org/wiki/mordita https://es.wiktionary.org/wiki/mordita https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/mordida https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/mordida https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/mordita https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/mordita
- downut 2y agoThis is what I was looking for. Because I learned this from informal situations in the US something like 30 years ago, it stuck. But, surprise, surprise, the pronunciation was just an approximation, and led me astray. Mordida it shall be forevermore. Muchas Gracias.
