UFO civilization could be on Earth: Harvard researchers
- bediger4000 2y agoReally low quality article.
- jonathankoren 2y agoI’m honestly surprised it wasn’t Avi Loeb when I saw, “Harvard researcher”
- SketchySeaBeast 2y ago> This paper has made the case for taking seriously the CTH [“cryptoterrestrial” hypothesis] as a potential explanation for UAP, while noting that it probably ranks lower than other hypotheses, such as the extraterrestrial explanation, although such calculations are hard to quantify. Even the paper admits it's reaching.
- EA 2y ago> All four CTHs are far-fetched on their face; we entertain them here because some aspects of UAP are strange enough that they seem to call for unconventional explanations.
- Sporktacular 2y agoWhat is it with Harvard these days?
- doctoboggan 2y agoThe paper can be found here: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/381041896_The_cryptoterrestrial_hypothesis_A_case_for_scientific_openness_to_a_concealed_earthly_explanation_for_Unidentified_Anomalous_Phenomena https://www.researchgate.net/publication/381041896_The_crypt... Without the Harvard affiliation I don't think this would make news. It's not been peer reviewed and I don't think the first author is (or claims to be) an expert on the relevant topics. (Hard to say what the relevant topics would be, maybe archeology or geology?)
