Is Oracle Killing MySQL?
- a1o 2y agoApparently the answer is No, unless I missed something.
- pianohacker 2y agoGood old Betteridge's Law of Headlines.
- lantry 2y agoNot exactly a no, more like "No, but they are letting it die" > "unless Oracle turns its attention to the needs modern developers have from a relational database, it will be killing it, if not through action, then through inaction!"
- cchance 2y agoI mean the article basically clarifies, they're killing it through in-action, it's basically stagnant and postgresql is eating it for lunch by basically every metric.

- danielovichdk 2y agoOracle is the best sales force in the software industry. It's absolutely amazing how much money they are making with such little product. Mysql is a great database.
- LegitShady 2y ago100%. If only oracle db was as good as its sales team. same is true for basically all SAP products.
- PeterZaitsev 2y agoI better clarify - Killing MySQL as Open Source database. Oracle might totally be successful selling MySQL Heatwave in Oracle Cloud, though it has little value for Open Source MySQL Community
- JSDevOps 2y agoNo
