The wide variety of life forms on planet earth is nothing short of remarkable. As much as our technology today is incredible, it just doesn’t match the natural world in terms of sheer complexity. Evolution of innumerable species that evolve together over billions of years is a form of gradient descent that only a Dyson sphere could calculate. Truly remarkable and humbling. I think it would do a lot of technologists good to contemplate nature.
