So, what I see here, is yet another Open Source creator/maintainer being crowd-bullied into compliance with the (possibly correct, but never-mind) consensus on new features. It's my personal opinion, not backed by any scientific studies or whatever, that this kind of behavior directly leads to developer burnout, and is, put plainly, toxic and counterproductive.
