Readers added context they thought people might want to know
There is no proof this ever happened.
Some people in the comments are instead reporting that Elon "removed all tweets by @apple" which is also not true - the @apple account doesn't publish any tweets on their account, only ads. This has been like this since at least 2016.

- ajdude 2y agoTo me this seems less about the account having no tweets and more about the account being auto-blocked by everyone on Twitter. Since apple uses this account for ads, if you block the account you no longer see ads; I think this results in Apple's ad campaign on twitter reaching nobody.
