- Qem 2y agoStrokes, alongside heart attacks tend to be time-critical conditions. In absence of a broad coverage, quick response first responder system, an expensive private hospital will be of little help, if you're already dead or a vegetable by the time you arrive there.

He came here using an ambulance jet from US. Or did I get it wrong? But yeah, in general you right, SUS is a great public health system, specially for such cases. But rich people don't use it, so it's not relevant to people like Chomsky. But it's super relevant to people like me.
- lobocinza 2y agoSUS is a joke. Those that can afford buy private medical insurance but even that sucks because due to heavy regulation and government intervention. Only the rich and lucky have good healthcare in Brazil.
