Recall is taking screenshots and performing ocr, stored in what turned out to be clear text. Semantic index is spotlight’s next version, which you already have on your devices. It’s quite different.
- gigel82 2y agoSemantic index is doing an even deeper level of integration where clear text is pushed from iMessage, email and more so no need for OCR. Where Apple is worse than MS here is that this data may be pushed to their cloud in addition to local processing (with no clear guidelines on under what conditions that happen or how to stop it from happening).
