Don't forget that there is more surface area on the asteroid belt than the rest of the solar system combined — and minimal gravity.
Cheap — and resources to extract.
- ttyprintk 2y agoThis is important because an unmanned project could redirect asteroids to repeatably hit a chosen canyon on Mars. This increases the neighborhood metal value and begins the 50 km shaft you’d need to achieve survivable pressure underground.
- wruza 2y agoAnd you can prod asteroids so they accidentally fall on your enemies, either in the belt or on earth.
