Can you please for once make these remarks during an Elon thread when they consistently make awful comments and constantly break the rules?
Enforce things equally please.
- dang 2y agoEnforcing things equally is impossible because we don't see everything, and we can't moderate what we don't see. If you see a post that ought to have been moderated but hasn't been, the likeliest explanation is that we didn't see it. You can help by flagging it or emailing us at hn@ycombinator.com. But we need you to follow the rules regardless.
- verticalscaler 2y agoAlright. Fair. I just went back and flagged this one: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40565668 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40565668 I mean histrionic is a pretty accurate description of Musk's own persona. You get what you give. “Elon bad therefore my tantrum is justified” - I’ve seen that countless times and never a peep from you. I wrongly assumed you saw it. You are right it wasn’t flagged. This happens every single Musk thread. Very hard to miss. I’ll once again diligently report and not take bait. I take you at your word. I’m not an Elon defender at all but these tactics don’t belong on the site and it has to stop already. Enough.
- dang 2y agoOf course, those comments just as terrible and repetitive. From a moderation point of view it makes zero difference whether the high-order bit is yay or boo. Maybe it "has to stop" but that doesn't mean it will stop. People won't stop behaving like people. All we can do is moderate what we see, as I mentioned above. Fortunately the community sees a lot more than we do—so if users bring to our attention posts that need moderation, it extends our range.
