Corporations exist solely to create shareholder value on a quarterly basis.
If it's more profitable to go bankrupt and screw their test subjects, they will not hesitate - it is legally required they do so.

- qarl 2y agoNaw.
- tiahura 2y agoLegally, that’s incorrect. Corporations exist to do whatever purpose is spelled out in the articles of incorporation. That purpose can be eleemosynary or profit or whatever the founders want.
- qarl 2y agoFair enough. But most corps pick profit, and for those that don't, it's nearly impossible for a lay person to get/understand them. For example, it's extremely unlikely that the victims in this story knew to check the articles of incorporation.
