Also consider running the wires in an accessible way, like along the ceiling along with water pipes and air ducts. I've torn into the walls in my house multiple times to do repairs and I would far prefer seeing (and being able to easily access) the wiring than to have it hidden away with minimal thought to when things go wrong or someone wants an upgrade.
