Show HN: A browser extension for your own private GitHub notes
- siegers 2y agodev here: feel free to ask any questions!
- purple-leafy 2y agoUI looks nice. Did you enjoy making a browser extension? I’ve made a few myself, it’s an untapped niche. You could probably extend this into a generic note-taking side panel to get more users if that’s your goal, good stuff
- siegers 2y agoThanks! Yeah, I wanted to keep it specific for GitHub but can see how the base functionality can be used for something more generic. On each page match hit for a signed in user, the API is checked to see if the user has notes - if the matching were expanded beyond GitHub, then that would need to be taken into account to reduce ‘ping’ requests that check if notes exist.
