There are lots of people who live every day under the poverty line. This is a very distasteful comment.

      I know what I said, but I don't think I was hitting down at all. I honestly don't understand why it's being taken that way. Ah well, I clearly failed to communicate clearly/carefully enough. To clarify, the reason that I am surprised that my comment was taken this way is because very poor people often eat fast food out of necessity. For them, it's not a luxury at all. In any case, it certainly wasn't an intentional insult or anything. I wasn't even talking about poor people at all.

        For many folks it is a luxury over cooking for themselves or getting food from food banks, kitchens, etc. $10 for a burger and fries isn't accessible for many.
