Are sales dropping?
- A4ET8a8uTh0 2y agoThe answer appears to be 'no' based on corporate response to, what they perceive is, a PR issue[1]. It is odd to watch. I have eaten a fair amount of fast food lately so I have front line view to the increase. It is there. But I don't see people learning how to cook either. Corporations notice. - throwup238 2y ago> But I don't see people learning how to cook either. The pandemic lockdowns forced a lot of people to learn how to cook, lots more people who learned to bake bread, etc. This trend might be an extension of that development.
- PaulHoule 2y agoThat article claims McD's and other chains missed earnings last quarter so I think it is hurting sales.
- A4ET8a8uTh0 2y agoYou are right. I somehow incorrectly equated Mcd response as proof. Sorry for that, but thank you for correcting me here.
- adamomada 2y agoAnother article on HN previously showed that while sales aren’t down, number of visits are. Kind of the motto of the 2020s: people spending the same but getting less
- mytailorisrich 2y agoGood point as akaik sales are tracked in dollar amount. So, yes, telling metric is probably the number of visits.
