I used to work for an insurance company that is a F500, they had thousands of mobile phone insurance policies for £2.99 a month in the UK that were running for decades. We never got calls, we never had claims, 99.999% of the customers had completely forgotten the policies even existed, diligently insuring their Nokia 3210's. Every software company is banking on this happening for them. Enshittification will never end, sure they lose customers but eventually they can get their costs down to zero and its all more or less free money after that.
