I find stress is usually about the company and people in it, not the actual work you were hired to do.
I love software dev, I enjoy where I work now and am stressed very rarely. That was absolutely not true of my last job, and the role was not the issue, if only I could have done some software dev in between all the bullshit that made it stressful.
- ksaj 2y agoAs professionals, they should be aware of how they come across in public. I'm not saying they are incompetent at all (although I've met a few where that could be debated) but that they make themselves appear incompetent by complaining in public about their jobs, to people who also do the same or related job but don't have so many complaints about it. Having a rough day is one thing. Having a feed full of complaints about how grueling the biz is, is a whole different can of (annoying) beans. Ironically two of the most belly-achy of people I know in the biz are also tutors. I wouldn't want a tutor that complains so constantly about what it is they're teaching. We've all had school teachers that hate their jobs. They make the class excruciating. It's truly an appearance thing. If you have one of the enviable jobs on the lot, why sully it by complaining about how badly you apparently can't handle it?
- ehnto 2y agoI more or less agree in that regard, I think social media is a terrible place to be putting your professional life in general especially if it's negative. That's a personal opinion I guess, I'm not a very negative person so I don't mesh well with people who are always complaining.
