Don't use fungicides -> Mycotoxins
Doomed if you do and doomed if you don't. Honestly, eating cereal just isn't appealing anymore. I recently ate some granola without yogurt or honey, and it tasted rancid. Shame because the texture of oats is excellent.
- PaulHoule 2y agoThat article says organic seems to do a touch better. Funny my wife recently bought a lot of stuff at an Amish market which seems to be the T.J. Maxx of food. She got two bags of slightly expired macaroons that I think were intended to be consumed for Passover, for instance. We talked a lot about which foods are good past their sell by dates and which ones aren't.
- m463 2y ago> the T.J. Maxx of food sounds like grocery outlet
- mint2 2y agoThat is wrong per the article. The article says organic and conventional are essentially the same with mycotoxins except one toxin where conventional is worse.
- tesseract 2y ago> Honestly, eating cereal just isn't appealing anymore. All cereal grains or are you just referring to breakfast cereal here?
- s1artibartfast 2y agoBack in 2005 there were a number of policy case studies about mycotoxins in Mexican masa. There was a push to go organic and it lead to a large bump in fetal deaths and defects. We studied them in ethics class as an example of how well intended policy still needs to conform to physical reality.
