Everything Is Still BI
- notarobot123 2y agoThe gravity of user expectations seems to inevitably pull products towards a bland middle-ground of identical features for any given software category. This is a great case study of that phenomenon. In my experience, adding familiar features to please a wider audience is the bread and butter of sales-led growth but I'm not convinced it's the path to hockey-stick growth. It seems to me that the only way to avoid this problem is to *be* the category "king" that shapes expectations. By leading the framing of the problem, user feature requests are more likely to point towards where the solution isn't working as well as it could.
