DHH's dev setup for Ubuntu: Omakub
- phren0logy 2y agoFor those of you who, like me, aren't going to watch a video: https://github.com/basecamp/omakub https://github.com/basecamp/omakub > Turn a fresh Ubuntu installation into a fully-configured, beautiful, and modern web development system by running a single command. That's the one-line pitch for Omakub. No need to write bespoke configs for every essential tool just to get started or to be up on all the latest command-line tools. Omakub is an opinionated take on what Linux can be at its best. > Omakub includes a curated set of applications and tools that one might discover through hours of watching YouTube, reading blogs, or just stumbling around Linux internet. All so someone coming straight from a platform like Windows or the Mac can immediately start enjoying a ready-made system, without having to do any configuration and curation legwork at all.
- breckenedge 2y agoSo, no more Windows love from DHH? Not exactly compatible with WSL. I guess everyone at 37signals is getting a framework laptop.
