Viruses are non-living. They are not organisms and cannot be "alive".
- OutOfHere 2y agoEvery organism is alive only in a certain medium. Viruses "come alive" in a host, e.g. a human body, or in solution. Humans are live only in Earth's environment. There is no life without the context of the broader environment that it can live in.
