I thoroughly enjoy shifting through the 1000's of CD in the many thrift shops in my town, hunting for nostalgia from the 90's and early 2000's! I have also discovered some 'new' music this way.
Initially I started ripping CD's to FLAC and building my offline music library, using Navidrome to make it available on my phone and laptop, but then I found a classic CD-player and started listening to them in my living room, like in the good old days. From start to finish.
In the age of Spotify, I have really found myself missing the slight friction of physical media, the tactile aspect and the focused listening experience.
Maybe I should go all in and buy some cassettes as well?
