I think he was decided he was done with Tesla when he got punished by the SEC. Now he refuses to spend any time with his publicly traded company. My conspiracy theory is that he wants to get his payout, tank Tesla's stock, and then take it private again at the lower valuation. But I don't think there is any situation where the math would actually work out on that.
