Anybody else get “out of touch” vibes from this post?
- SOLAR_FIELDS 2y agoI didn’t even get to that point, I got that when Tan referred to himself as a representative of “little tech”
- JohnFen 2y agoYeah, that was where I got off the PR train, too.
- xyst 2y agoyea, definitely some narcissism in the post. Very off putting. Have very little confidence this is going to do anything. But I really hope I’m wrong and we get it right, this time.
- dbmikus 2y agoI would consider YC a pretty clear representative of "little tech", albeit little tech with startup/hyperscale ambitions. So, IMO it's not out of touch, it's very on-point.
- Affric 2y agoGreat call out. Who can claim with a straight face the USA was built on the idea of equal opportunity. Who would say that country that sprang from the metropolises of the east were built on individualism? This kind of capital-C conservative appeal to the past is a political signal to light a fire under the Dems and court Republicans. Not that you’d expect such a statement to turn into a truth telling commission or a treatise on the evolution of the United States but it’s interesting it was brought up.
