Bridging between source languages, in WASM
- jauntywundrkind 2y agoGreat intro for the many many many people distressed that wasi preview2 wasn't just a little more of the same preview1. These folks see, hey, I could compile to wasm before, why would I want WASI to have an IDL now? Well, if you want to use multiple languages together, if you want code you write in one language to be useful in other languages, you're probably going to want wasm modules to actually be modular. Which is what preview2 is enabling! Hoping the gap until preview3 arrives isn't as long. It would be excellent to bridge the function coloring gap, would be a superb enhancement in runtime capabilities versus what is on offer today in the world. It seems like preview2 has hewn out a very solid base to work from, so fingers crossed. Direly needed write-up, thanks!
