Great to see more retro gaming devices being put out there, looks pretty similar to the analogue pocket though right? Trying to figure out if they have a big differentiator:
1. Basically same price point (200 vs. pocket's 220)
2. fpga based
3. plays the same games (though the pocket seems like it might have more adapter/connection options)
4. screen looks lower res (though that's probably the goal for these games)
5. nicer shell
The headphones look neat. If I had all the cash in the world for a retro gaming device, I would've focused even more on bringing the accessories back in some way that hooks them in to the current world to get people excited.
Like the old game boy camera being internet connected in some way, or pair it with an all new gameboy printer of sorts since the retro polaroids are in right now. Something that can better step apart from the analogue pocket and feel even more retro.
Here's Palmer's response about why it's better, I do like the OSS angle and would have to play with it to see if the rest feels "right" but good to see he was thinking more about this: "Open source, metal shell, sapphire screen lens, clock speed actually correct, display structure/color temp/etc is correct, daylight viewable, much better battery life" - https://twitter.com/PalmerLuckey/status/1797669089324011548 https://twitter.com/PalmerLuckey/status/1797669089324011548
