Perhaps a bit controversial in the first instance, but the purpose of business is not to have a positive impact on society. Businesses are vehicles to make money and with that comes a logic and a set of tendencies that has nothing to do with anything else than making money. Please note that making money is the stated goal of businesses and has been from the time first businesses emerged, so what I'm saying above isn't really controversial. Perhaps consider first: - Where in society do you want to make a positive impact? - Why do you want to make a positive impact? - Why do you want to start a business? - Why do you think a business is a good vehicle to achieve your where/why of social impact.
