The i3 is a fun rear wheel drive car and the mx-30 is an old ICE adapted front wheel drive. Many people don’t care but car enthusiasts do.
The i3 was a carbon fiber body on an aluminium frame with plastic body panels, with an unique interior and choice of materials. The MX-30 is a bit boring.
But the MX-30 kept the annoying doors and the failed hybrid concept.
I think the MX-30 arrived too late for its specs.
- moogly 2y agoTo be fair, the MX-30's interior is pretty nice and definitely unique with its cork infusions, though I'm not sure how well cork will stand the test of time. I thought it was nicer than the i3s's. I'll have to say the i3s was not fun to drive in the winter with its really narrow tires and its propensity for getting stuck in the worn down tracks of other cars. Great and nimble in the city though.
- speedgoose 2y agoI didn’t know the Mazda has some cork option. I still prefer the i3 wood plank but its a matter of personal tastes I guess. The i3 is for sure not the best winter car but I didn’t have major issues in the Oslo area. Also thin tires is somewhat better in the snow. At least that’s what they go with in WRC.
