I’m not a stock market person so I’m not going to comment on why this happened or if it is justified, but the ‘AI disruption’ angle that a lot of analysts speak about is pretty uninformed. The large enterprise software companies and consultancies are already making a fair amount from AI add-ons and that’s only going to accelerate. Yes, in the future we will have generative UI and such, but GitHub Copilot Chat isn’t that disruptive, and that’s really the main type of AI dev tool that’s actually in-market or anywhere close.
