A Life-Changing Decision: More Time, Less Money

I am a 45-year-old sys admin from Italy. In Italy, a sys admin with 25 years of experience earns about 30,000 euros net per year if you work in the south, and 45,000 in the north. I am from southern Italy. Not long ago, I received an excellent job offer that would allow me to earn 45,000 euros per year while staying close to home. Initially, I accepted, even knowing that the working hours could reach 40/45 per week. But afterward, I decided to let it go. Instead, I chose a job that allows me to work only 5 hours a day and dedicate time to myself and my family, at the expense of about 17,000 euros less. More time for life, less money. Did I make the right choice?
