What does the invasion of Ukraine have to do with the bombing of Nordstream?
- jfengel 2y agoIt was before the bombing. Russia shut off Nordstream soon after the invasion, as a way of punishing Europe for its support of Ukraine. That's the energy crisis they were discussing. The bombing came later. Nobody is sure who did it or why. It probably has something to do with the Ukraine war, giving the timing, but exactly what is anybody's guess. Maybe Russia blew it up to punish Europe more. Maybe the Americans (or allies) did it to prevent Russia from re-opening it (to fund the war). Or somebody else for totally different reasons.
