Damitr Mazanav doesn’t (modulo some variation in transliteration into Roman characters) sound Russian to you?
edit: looking at the introduction written by the translator, he/she appears to be possibly… Indian?
It’s weirdly close to Dmitry Mazanov, though, which would seemingly be a reasonable Russian name.
- bigdict 2y agoNo, it doesn't.
- vijayr02 2y agoMitr in Hindi means friend. Mazanav sounds like "majha naav", which means "my name" in Marathi, the language spoken in Mumbai (which is where the translator seems to live / have lived). So, in summary - my name is the friend. Hello Mitr!
- the-mitr 2y agoTranslator here: "Damitr" is literally the acronym for my name and Maza-nav माझा नाव in Marathi means my name.
