Learning about that method was when I also learned that “picture your house in your mind” wasn’t just a euphemism. Most people can form images in their head. Wild. Supposedly the method of loci is usable by folks with aphantasia, but it never did anything for me. In high school they had us memorize a grocery list using numbers and rhymes. One - bun - milk. Two - shoe - eggs. Three - tree - bacon. And you’d think of some association between milk and bun. This worked well for me and that stupid grocery list is probably the thing I’ve remembered for the longest amount of time. I’d have a hard time telling you the address of the last place I lived, but I could tell you that list of groceries.
