- cityofdelusion 2y agoI normally don't comment on stuff like this, but this is dishonest at best. The bible is a collection of multiple books, some are stories and myths, some are historical, some are divine law / ways to live. The vast majority of faith traditions today that root the bible as divine revelation do not see the old testament's law as binding on modern man, but rather either instruction for a more "devolved" people, part of an invalidated covenant, or part of an older "aeon" or age of man.

- carlosjobim 2y agoWhen you are free to ignore certain parts you open your mind to a world of knowledge and ideas, from every source imaginable.
- chrstphrknwtn 2y agoWhat I said is accurate. I'm aware of what the bible is comprised of. Your response is the usual "oh those bits are just old and silly". To say that my comment is "dishonest at best" relies on cherry-picking the parts that are palatable in modern society, as you've pointed out.

- chrstphrknwtn 2y agoQuite an aggressive response. I don't expect anything of the bible... it's just a silly old book that I never think about.
