This comment is a gem and I may steal some things from it for a blog post one day. My favorite part: On the other hand, if you are the "I want to work by myself and be a product manager, engineer, sysadmin, and CEO", then the big-company culture is not for you. I write code and talk about writing code. That's it, someone else does everything else. I like that, but if you don't, you won't like the big company lifestyle. I'm completely opposite, I love doing all of those things. I have a lot of respect for people on both side because there is so much to do it takes all of us. But I never expressed the difference as succinctly, thanks.
