Wow. This is like the invasion of the body snatchers. The whole republican party seems more and more each day like a headless chicken. Running on a corpse where the head at least has been infiltrated, emptied and replaced entirely by a team of pro-russian propagandists. Democrats on the other hand seem totally bullied and paralyzed by Israel even if they may lose the young vote for that. Difficult choices ahead. US democracy may need shock therapy to reboot it and start again free of "everybody blackmailed and a spy placed on each node". To introduce asap a third party would be the faster cure to alleviate lots and lots of their structural problems (because one of the two parties has always the monopoly of the opposition). Could work but could backfire also.

The dysfunction and corruption is such that it cannot be reformed from within because there are no meaningful checks & balances levers to pull in this state, and the near-term likely exploitation of an analogous vulnerability to Gödel's (unknown) Loophole. (Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. - Frederick Douglass) We don't need any more unprofessional reps who lack decorum, conspiracy theorists, embezzlers, goldbricking (literal and figurative) foreign agents, lobbyist pimps, octogenarians failing to mentor new leaders and step back, minor celebrities, or do-nothings with LES ~= 0. Demands 1. Undo gerrymandered district absurdity 2. Primary every COTUS official who fails to meet minimum standards outlined above 3. Rebalance SCOTUS in apolitical fashion and restore integrity, including impeaching Thomas and Alito for ethical lapses 4. Ratify NPVIC (needs a few big states' help) 5. Eliminate PACs because influence peddling isn't "speech" 6. Ranked choice voting (RCV) everywhere 7. Same-day voter registration also everywhere 8. Federal national holiday for voting 9. Restoration of 50% effective corporate tax rate and 38% effective capital gains tax rate 10. Single-payer universal healthcare and medication coverage for all, superseding Medicare and its corporate co-insurance complexification, like UK NHS except without government-takeover of last mile delivery 11. Medication price cap no higher than 10% more than other OECD currency-adjusted average market prices 12. "Union of Concerned Scientists"-like civics report card every year highlighting progress, regressions, and critical problems
