This makes sense. It could be worth dual booting, and seeing how it goes - it may swing back to Linux. I totally agree with not trying UTM, it really isn't ready yet - I made the mistake of trying to use it on a work laptop for work, and ate a lot of time with various freezes... maybe in a few years it will be fine - dual boot is probably a better option, even more so once USBC display and intermal mics work.
