Unless they were paying a whole bunch of programmers to do not much useful at all or just incredibly simple repetitive things, this is obviously not true to anyone who has tried to use LLMs to solve problems. I’m guessing some mid management sold the idea of firing 2/3 of the development staff and somebody is declaring victory a bit early.
