Ask HN: Is there a program that will TTS translate subs on screen?
Started watching lots of streaming foreign content, but theres subs on screen. Is there a TTS type app that can in real time translate and speak in english?

- IronWolve 2y agoThats more of an upload a video, I want something more real time. What I want, you select any streaming service, it scans the subtitles and translates into TTS in real time.
- krispyfi 2y agoTry to take a screenshot while you're watching one of those streams. More than likely, there will be a black rectangle where the video is supposed to be. That's DRM. You could say it's the opposite of a11y. It kinda puts the kibosh on your idea. Unless you, say, point a webcam at your screen or something.
