I was told as a kid that there was hope for climate change as long as we could scale back our carbon emissions. Watching the opposite of that happen over a lifetime is what made me into a doomer.
- mitthrowaway2 2y agoThat's true, it's a big difference. With nuclear war, every day that the sirens don't ring is the status quo protected, doom delayed by another day. With climate change, every day that the status quo is protected is another day of accelerating doom and increasing inevitability. They are different in that way.

- dpkirchner 2y agoAs we all predicted. Because they don't argue in good faith, they're just opposed to ... whatever (science, research, media, school, etc.)
