Losts of ways to stay connected. Go out to lunch with my Mom every Tuesday. I don't take her; we take other people. Invite whatever grandkids are in town; invite friends or other relatives. We choose the place, make the plan, go out. Sometimes just her and me, but more often several of us. Some weeks, the only thing she does to leave her village. She's in an assisted-living place, they take care of everything but still getting out is huge.
