After years of Javascript frameworks noise, i still don't understant why people build simple things using complex tools, so to build a "sleek" music player, i need to know Rust, then Tauri, then Javascript, then Svelte, then all the tools to put all of that together?hmm sounds very sleek to me.
- smodo 2y agoAt least they own it when writing that ‘building a local music player relying on web technologies for audio playback wasn’t a great idea.’ Looks like a lot was learned and that’s really what this kind of project is for isn’t it? There’s not really a paucity of music players around… Anyway, I have some hope that gpui will eventually be the framework that brings more people into the Rust gui space.
