I speculate the following with confidence: At least some people who used to drink will move to smoking marijuana and give up drinking (I hope this is clear, the only questionable part is how many, it indeed is likely this number is going to be negligibly small). A bigger proportion of adolescents who would be going to start drinking habitually will instead start smoking marijuana and won't acquire a habit of consuming alcohol.
