Chernobyl's "wild boar paradox" has been cracked
- ggm 2y agoHow much wild boar from chernobyl you eat, is a function over radiation hormesis, radiation poisoning, tapeworms and taste. I'd probably eat a cooked wild boar sausage. I don't think it'd live off it. Or, eat less well cooked organ meat. Australian wild meats are often sold into discriminating European markets but the slaughterhouse and cold chain has to be distinct from the beef and lamb market because Japan and other buyers will exclude farm meat products which share fridges and knives with parasite risk wild roo and feral pig meat. Mushrooms concentrate radiation. Maybe this can be turned into bioremediation but what to do with the umami rich, vitamin D and B rich, post nucleotide extraction mushroom gunk?
