Left a career as a developer/entrepreneur/executive for teaching at a private high school.
No real advice: it wasn't intentional; something that I just drifted to. It's really fulfilling but not lucrative.
- base698 2y agoWhat kind of work did you do to become a teacher? Extra school?
- WarOnPrivacy 2y agoOur rural county requires a Masters for FT. Subs need to be bathed and not be banned 1000' from a school.
- rcfox 2y agoI don't know about other countries, but in Canada, you need a one or two year program to become a teacher, at least for public schools. Were you able to "drift" into this because your country has fewer regulations, or is it that private schools are less restrictive?
- Projectiboga 2y agoIn America, private schools are almost unregulated. They get "accredited" by a group that evaluates indeoendent schools. So basically anyone w college degree or beyond with no serious criminal history can teach.
