What an absolutely absurd idea that can be easily confirmed (it’s open source) and is borderline libel against the developer who has been maintaining this project for over a decade.
It’s a crazy conspiracy theory that we can confirm or deny by looking at the code and it’s a theory about a practice (OpenAI taking training data from sources sending it to them not using the API, and also OpenAI doesn’t train on API data) that we have never seen in the wild.
- soraminazuki 2y agoThe amount of FUD and vitriol displayed by some circles for a small and non-intrusive optional feature is insane. This is especially evident in the issue tracker. The response is more vicious than Windows shoving AI in the start menu, and it's baffling. I have no use for the feature, I can write shell commands on my own. But why in the world would I go berating the developer over this? Why would anyone? iTerm2 is a gift that users owe him for, not the other way around. I see this in some open source communities. Is this kind of thing normal?
