You can watch this submission sink in realtime by refreshing; it's amazing almost.

- metacritic12 2y agoAgreed, I mean "incredible" and not in the good way. Someone needs to take this to Twitter / X or another platform that isn't insider controlled.
- throw10920 2y agoThere's no "insiders" going on here. HN very intentionally doesn't favor VC stories, and it's really easy to see that because you can easily find stories and comments that are critical of VCs and YC alumni...they just have to be intellectually rewarding. This story is not. This story is boring drama. HN is not an advocacy platform. > Agreed, I mean "incredible" and not in the good way. Someone needs to take this to Twitter / X or another platform that isn't insider controlled. Please do. We don't want these kinds of stories (or comments) here.
- panarky 2y ago> We don't want these kinds of stories (or comments) here Who are you to decide what "we" want? You don't speak for me. The evidence of whether this community wants to see a story and to talk about it consists of upvotes minus downvotes, comments, and flags.
- throw10920 2y ago> Who are you to decide what "we" want? If you read the parent comments, you'd see that them, and many others, are complaining about the thread getting flagged off the front page. Those flaggers are the "we". I am talking about "The evidence of whether this community wants to see a story". Also, the guidelines literally say that these kinds of stories and comments are off-topic. https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html

- wvenable 2y agoHN will sink articles with a lot of rapid fire comments because they basically flame wars. It's not unusual at all.
- dang 2y agoI was just posting about that here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40437018 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40437018. If you read that and still have a question that isn't answered there, I'd be happy to take a crack at it.
- throw10920 2y agoThe submission is getting flagged by non-mod users (including by me) because it's not suitable for HN. It's clearly in the "Off-Topic" section of the site guidelines[1]: > Off-Topic: Most stories about politics, or crime, or sports, or celebrities, unless they're evidence of some interesting new phenomenon. Videos of pratfalls or disasters, or cute animal pictures. If they'd cover it on TV news, it's probably off-topic.
