  >In 2022, they gobbled up 460 terawatt hours of electricity... Total global electrical consumption is around 22k tWh a a year. 0.5 tWh for what datacenters give us is significant but more than worth the value they provide imo.

    That's total server use, not just AI. And the forecast is from the IEA, an institution from which another forecast has been badly wrong 14 years in a row and without a change of methodology.
