I haven't noticed a significant uptick since GPT. Maybe it's just my own browsing habits, but it has always been difficult for me to find non-spam, detailed, accurate information on most topics without spending hours or days digging for credible sources and cross-referencing. And the search engine and social media spam has been around long before GPT. Mind you, "always" here means the last 15 years for me.
